The reception for ALL AN ACT during its recent reading in Dallas went very well, and inspired me with a new found confidence in the material. Those who came to see it were very generous with both donations and feedback.
Admittedly, I had some reservations concerning seeing people other than who I have been working with for two years step into these roles, but once I saw what they were doing with it, all concern evaporated. It was different, absolutely, but that is part of the nature of theatre: same play, a variety of ways to approach it. I was exceedingly happy with what Director Matt and Actors Brandon and Diana came up with, and so was the audience.
I always knew that it was a solid piece of work, which is what will happen when you have the luxury of working on it for so long, but I think I did need to see it done by others to really get a sense of how it can travel.
So, hey, let's go to Edinburgh and see what happens.
Thanks again to everyone in Dallas who helped put this together, and those who came out to see it
